Meet the Wemmicks

I asked Olea last night to choose a book that I could read to her before she went to bed. To my surprise, she ended up finding "You are special" by Max Lucado. I hadn't seen these books for years! The boys loved these books when they were little too. I don't remember where I got them, probably from Deseret Books. We have four, however I'll be doing a quick search after this post because I want to get the whole set as I think they are well worth the money. I love them because they have some  impressive lessons that we could all learn from.

The books are about Wemmicks, a group of beautifully, hand carved puppets. Their Maker, Eli, pours out His love and affection for them and works in mysterious, beautiful ways to remind and encourage them that they are dearly and deeply loved.

They are prone to following the crowd, judging one another, spending their resources on unnecessary items, self-conscious about their appearance, preoccupied by their work and not entirely aware of all the goodness and beauty already present in their lives.

They are continually learning lessons of love, grace, acceptance and matters of the deepest parts of their heart by their Maker.

They are broken, yet beautiful.

They are lost, yet found.

They are needy, yet full.

They are imperfect, yet inspiring.

By the way, Olea loves them!
