I had a long day at work today, so when I got home, I didn’t
feel like cooking. Fortunately for me, I
have two amazing sons, Tommy and Jacob, who cooked us all pancakes. There was
only one small problem – not enough jam! Ammon was not impressed. I grabbed the
other one out of the cupboard, yet no matter how many times I tried, I just
couldn't open it. I hammered the lid with a knife several times, used a
tea-towel to get a better grip... to no avail. Sigh. I then asked Ammon to have
a go - no luck. THEN I asked Jakie, whom we nickname "Mr Muscles" due
to his large stature. He tried for eons as well, as he didn’t want his pride
pricked - however HE couldn't open it either!
He laughed it off and told us we would have to wait till tomorrow morning once Dad got home. Jared is strong. I know that may sound cheesy, but I kid you not; I have seen him pick up washing machines by himself and lug them from one end of the house to the other. Anyhow, time had passed and Ammon was getting irritable, complaining that there was nothing for dinner since he refused to eat his pancake without jam. I was tired, and quite frankly didn't want to listen to him grumbling, so I said, "Oh for goodness sake, say a prayer, so you can open the silly thing!" He then replied "Don't say a prayer because it won't work". "Oh ye of little faith" I gasped, whilst roaring with laughter and saying a silent prayer at the same time. I then proceeded to the kitchen bench, picked up the jam jar and opened it with ease. Ammon couldn't believe his eyes. Neither could I.
