Happy New Year!!

Our celebrations for this year were very quiet as Jared was on nightshift, Jakie slept over at Jakes house and Olea and Tommy ended up falling asleep at 9:00. This left Ammon and I to see the new year in watching videos and panicking about outside explosions that shook not only our house but the whole neighbourhoods! Haha We all gathered outside to discuss what the heck was going on, thinking maybe Burrup Fertilisers or Woodside may have had a slight mishap. I phoned Jared and he said everything was fine and they hadn't heard a thing! Few! We never did find out what it was. Probably some home made fireworks gone wrong!

I also have to mention that Ammon and Jakie bore their testimony at church on Sunday for the first time ever. Ammon was sitting on the stand with President Pilkington when he mentioned that his 5 year old son had showed them up because he had just bore his testimony. President Pilkington then encouraged Ammon to do the same thing and I could see him trying to persuade him from the congregation. He did a fabulous job and was very methodical and calm. He was grateful for his dads work, the Saviour and Joseph Smith. Jakie was hilarious, he went up after his best friend Jake and was embarrassed afterwards because he muddled up and said he was grateful for the restoration of the Book of Mormon. I assured him not to worry, we have all had moments of nervousness and have had to stumble through our words. The funny thing was, as we were driving home, Tommy told us that he wished he could've done the same thing but he didn't think he was allowed! Haha! I had some explaining to do. It just goes to show that older brothers really do need to set the example because little brothers just want to be like them :)

As I bid farewell to 2011, I am filled with gratitude - gratitude for my children,
for my husband, for our families and for many great friends.

When I reflect on our friendships, I am incredibly grateful for the help I have been given and the new friends I have been introduced to over the last year. They have been wonderfully and completely embracing, and your presence in our life is felt and cherished very much. Because of your warmth, kindness, and kindred spirits, I feel as if we could meet anywhere, anytime, and I would know you as a familiar friend.

So thank you dear friends for a beautiful year!

May you be blessed with health and happiness, and with the love of your family and friends in the coming New Year.
